Education:

Research Interests:

As an undergrad at the University of Vermont, I discovered my passion for research and Drosophila melanogaster while working on my Comparative Physiology capstone project, where I investigated how heat shock responses vary in Drosophila at different developmental stages by measuring MDH activity. This experience led me to a cellular neuroscience lab, where I explored how starvation and dopaminergic neuron activity affect amino acid taste sensitivity using genetic tools. After graduation, I spent the summer working with postdoctoral researchers in the Perrimon Lab at the Harvard Medical School on a Drosophila gut tumor model.

I’m currently researching the developmental genetics of the oskar gene in Drosophila and developing new insect lab models in the Extavour lab.

In my free time, I enjoy sunset walks and trying new ice cream flavors.
