Naol Adugna
Education:
Boston College High School
Degree expected 2026
As a student at Boston College High School, Naol discovered his passion for biology and chemistry early on, which led him to his first lab experience in the summer of 2024: studying Drosophila genetics and blood at UMass Boston in the Girard lab, where he crossed mutated flies to understand how different genetic markers reacted to mutations in blood. In the summer of 2025, Naol joined our lab to work on optimizing methodologies for functional genetics work in emerging model organisms. In his free time, Naol likes to walk his dog, play soccer, and run track.
